Jimmi O is a Bay Area singer/songwriter/guitarist who has been writing, performing, and recording his distinctive blend of rock for over 30 years. One fan accurately describes his music as “The perfect mix of Jimi Hendrix and Jack Johnson.” Jimmi O has played lead and rhythm guitar - and sometimes bass - in numerous rock groups, acoustic duos, or as a soloist. In addition, he is a former member of the world famous Glide Ensemble (gospel choir), and has been active in Bread & Roses and the West Coast Songwriter’s Association. Currently, Jimmi O is in preproduction on his first CD scheduled for release in the winter of 2018.
While initial influences include guitar legends such as Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, and Jerry Garcia, Jimmi O has broadened his repertoire to include elements of funk, finger style, jazz, and classical music. His artistic focus has gradually evolved from riff-oriented tunes with guitar solos to an appreciation for all the musical and lyrical elements found in great songs that stand the test of time.
“Music and art are a tonic for the soul.” - Jimmi O. Allowing a distinctive rhythm to surface is often the starting point for a new song. Sometimes the process begins with a compelling lyric or a melody that comes to mind while waking from an afternoon nap. Wherever the writing begins, the goal is always the same: Create distinctive, melodic music that in subtle or in more dramatic ways has a spark to peak the listener’s ear and draw them in.
Jimmi really helped me perfect my serve which brought my game to a new level. It’s made it more enjoyable to compete and play for fun.

Meet Jimmi
“Life is better on the court!” Jimmi Olmstead is passionate about racquet sports and sharing his knowledge of the game with others. Whether it’s tennis or pickleball, Jimmi has decades of experience playing racquet sports and the fun always starts with grooving the fundamentals. In tennis this means practicing baseline ground strokes, developing a reliable serve, volleying and simple strategies for winning matches. In Pickleball the same principles apply: drill the essential skills, court positioning and tactics to establish the foundation for a strong, consistent and winning game. If you have a kiddo just starting out, or you are an adult wanting to tune up your strokes, Jimmi meets his students where they are and helps them take their game to the next level. Let’s go!
